That mac n' cheese was amazing. English cheddar is so good... still obsessed with those apples!!! They are so good especially when I'm craving something sweet. I made make shift jacket potatoes today because I've been dying for some for the last 2 weeks. I've only been making one dish meals so it'll be nice to get some square meals in Ireland.
I got some things sorted out for my classes in terms of assignments. For the ad class, I'll be analyzing advertisements from DMU and what that says about the consumers and how they've created a brand out of the school. Working that whole higher education marketing thing. I had to do a debate today about the pros of advertising. I completely destroyed it. Good old mock trial never fails, haha.
I was looking through my notes earlier and I realized I wrote things that didn't belong in the notes... things that I wanted to remember. For instance, in my radio class, my teacher always explains things to me since the BBC is a HUGE part of broadcasting and social norms in the UK. I've caught on and done research about it so I've figured it out by now yet he still explains everything to me. It's like he's targeting me as stupid, haha. He's a nice guy though. He also tucks his tie into his pants which I find funny...
The exact opposite happens in my ad class. My teacher always calls me out for being American. Since America is a capitalist superpower, she assumes I know everything and asks me to explain things all the time. I'm lucky that I do usually know everything she's talking about.
In my management class, we're talking about public broadcast and how that ties into politics. There's a huge debate about the British National Party right now. It seems like my teacher is mad that I know what's going on in current events. I don't think he's mad at me... I think he's mad that I'm talking about it more than the British students are.
My discourse teacher is amazingly intelligent. It's like he's too smart to communicate his ideas to the students. I've been trying to keep up as much as possible. He also cracks a lot of jokes and picks on me as well. This is what I get for taking classes with professors who publish in the International Journal for American Studies. FML.
Planned out trips to London and Paris. I'm so excited! I'll probably take the weekend before Thanksgiving off to do/finish all of my papers. Better to knock them all out at once. If I finish early, I may not need to go to classes the last week or so.
Alright so the next time I write one of these I will be back from 5 days in Northern Ireland (Belfast and Derry in particular). Get ready for pictures and stories.
