On Thursday I had to brave Bikram by myself after Kelly got called in to nanny a couple of kids for the day (yay!). I had by far the scariest instructor so far…well, OK, not exactly scary per say…just kinda intense. And because it was a small class she made everyone move right down to the front & then learned all our names so she could call us out & tell each & every person what they were doing wrong. Yikes! Fortunately this was perfectly remedied by a lovely afternoon with Carly where we hung out together at her place comparing photos (she could not believe how different Matty looks after all these years) & eating delivered pizza before watching a few hilarious episodes of Cougar Town.
I had a power nap in the afternoon before heading into Covent Garden to pick up tickets for Chicago, which Kelly, Eddie, & I were going to see that evening. I sipped an affogatto in a café nearby while I was waiting for them & then met them down near my favourite store (Cath Kidson - love, love, LOVE!) before heading up to Cambridge Theatre for the show. We found a great deal on discouttheatre.com & got tickets for 25 quid a head, as opposed to the normal 50 or 60 you would pay for this kind of show in the West End, & they were actually pretty decent seats despite being in the upper circle. It was a really great performance, although the cameo casting of Christy Brinkley as Roxie Hart was kinda interesting…just because the girl is a gorgeous model does not automatically translate in her being a show stopping musical theatre actress. Suffice it to say she was a little outshined by the rest of the cast…Nonetheless a great night was had by all! Bravo! :)
