Saturday morning I was feeling fairly sore - not due to the bed (or lack thereof) mind you, but more as a result of the Bikram the day before. I figured the best way to get through the pain would be to go again! And this time I dragged Kelly along with me (what a lovely friend I am hehe). It was ever so slightly less painful than the first time…and by that I mean about 0.00001% less painful. But at least this time I knew what I was in for…although not entirely sure whether that was a good or bad thing…
Anyway, we survived. Just. And then we grabbed some sandwiches from Pret for lunch before heading into Notting Hill to explore the Paddington markets. Us & every other person in London! Well, except for Eddie, he had to work…but judging by the crowds in that one street it really did feel like every person in London had decided to congregate there that day. But it's still one of my favourite places in London, & we had a lovely time wandering up & down the street poking through antiques & knickknacks & watching the street performers.
In the evening we met Eddie back at the apartment for some dinner & drinks before heading out to a pub where Kelly's cousin was celebrating her 21st birthday. A rather sloshed young fellow came to inform us at the bar that Amy Winehouse had died just hours before, mere streets away from where we were. Very sad news…very interesting conversation starter. And then having done his duty of informing everyone at the bar, back he went to his drinking! We stayed for a few drinks & then headed home, my teeth chattering uncontrollably in the ridiculously cold night (OK, it wasn't RIDICULOUSLY cold, but it was quite ridiculous that it was that cold given it's the middle of summer!) & Kelly abandoning her heels to walk barefoot along the sidewalk.
