Hey there,
Sorry for getting behind by a week...I have been pretty busy since classes are winding up and I have a bunch of papers that are due soon. So the last two weeks have been kind of a blur. Time is flying bye, it is crazy.
Last week we celebrated Kristen and Karri's bdays on Monday night since their bdays were on the following Tuesday and Wednesday. We went out to a pancake house which was great. Then on Friday we surprised Kristen with a gelato crawl. We went to 5 different gelato places up and down Lygon. At each place she had a little task to do (which Alycia ingeniously thought of). At one place she had to order gelato then change her mind three times and then finally get the first flavor she asked for, and then at another she had to ask for a sample of each flavor (or as many as they allowed her to take)...it was a very entertaining...even though she accomplished some tasks better than others.
Last weekend consisted of me slaving away in the library working on two papers. So that was pretty uneventful.
This whole week has also been boring, I basically just studied for my philosophy test the whole time. I did get my hair cut today. I got it pretty short...shorter than it has been for a long time, but I really like it. And when I was killing time before my haircut I found a really cute sundress for $15...such a steal. And since it was a perfect day (probably 75 with no clouds in the sky) I couldn't really resist.
After I got my hair done Siobahn, Karri, Kristen and I went on a little field trip out to Rippon Lea which is a really bit mansion out in the suburbs of Melbourne. We had a little picnic lunch and ate in the gardens, and it was the perfect opportunity to wear my new dress!! It was a lot of fun. I think they were also setting up for a wedding too...so cute...so, if Meghan is reading this, if you ever have to change the wedding reception site...I have one in mind
I have discovered the one thing that I will miss most about Melbourne when I leave...Thresherman's Bakery after 4pm bake sale. Every day after 4 they put out all of the day old bread and baked goods and sell them at ridicuously low prices...it is great. Last week to reward myself for getting my paper done I went in there right around 4 to get the best selection, and they had just put out the $1 scones. YUM. And another time I got there at a perfect time and got this cinnamon role type thing, but to my surprise there was this tasty jelly wrapped all inside (and all of that for just one dollar...which is actually on 89 cents in USD!!!)
So, not much else has happened. I did find the new episodes of The OFfice online which has been pretty amazing. Alright, I need to get some food in my belly.
Hope everyone is having a good week!!
Leah
