Hey There!
Another week is gone...crazy. This past week went by so quickly...probably because I was trying to readjust back to my school schedule after having an amazing two weeks off. So, not too much happened...everyone was pretty worn out from spring break, so we didn't go out too much. The first night that all of the girls got back we went out to PA's for burgers and chatted about the second half of our spring breaks. Monica and Alycia went to Brisbane and the Gold Coast together, Siobhan went on a tour from Brisbane up to Cairns and then Karri had a death in the family, so had to fly back to the states for the funeral, but on her way back to Australia she flew into Brisbane so she got to see a little bit of that for a couple days. Karri's trip to the states and back makes my problem with my bags seem like a joke. They lost her bags when she flew to the US, and she didnt get them until the day before she had to fly back to Australia, and then they lost them again when she was flying to Brisbane...poor girl. So, I will never again complain about any lost bags after hearing her horror story.
On Thursday I went surfing for my Sport and Education in Australian Society class. It was a lot of fun and I got up almost every time. The weather was really horrible and the water was absolutely freezing, but it was still a great time. It was so cold that we had the option of wearing these hood things over our heads, that made us all look like giant condoms...but my head did stay very warm.
On Sunday was the Melbourne marathon. Alycia ran the marathon and Kristen ran the half and they both did amazing. The 5.5k was fun...it was a little crazy. I think there were over 4000 participants...it was such a fun atmosphere. I think my new goal is to run the 10 mile in the Twin Cities marathon next year...yea...we will see how that goes. After the marathon we went out for dessert at Max Brenners, which is a chocolate bar. I had some cinnamon bun type thing that was delicious.
Not much else really happened this week...I got a package from Tanner which was really exciting and made my week, even though all of my kettle corn was confiscated (who knew that popcorn may contain air born pathogens...not me...).
Well, I think that's about it. Hope everyone is having a great week!
