Hey There!!!
Happy September!!! Time keeps flying by...I can't believe that we are already a week into September...it's crazy. This week has been pretty good...I got to move back into the apartment on Friday afternoon...yay!!! It was actually kind of nice because our whole room had been cleaned and ALL of our clothes had been dry cleaned. They even got out some stains in two of my shirts that had been in there for awhile, so it made up for the inconvenience of not having any clothes for 3 days. And I haven't gotten any bites since I have been back which is even better.
So besides that exciting news, not much has happened. It's midterms time so everyone is swamped by papers and exams...I have a pathology test this Tuesday and then a physiology paper due on Friday.
Last Saturday a couple of the girls and I went to the chicks footie game that Alycia and Kristen were playing in. They are both in IES and live in the colleges on campus instead of the apartments (the colleges have different sports teams, and last week was the big girls footie tournament). It was really fun. Both the girls scored a mark for their teams, but Newman won by one point I think. Then after the girls' game we went to the MCG for an AFL game, St Kilda vs Richmond. It wasn't all that great of a game...and I was a little footied out, but it was still fun to get out of the apartment and not think about studying for a little bit.
Hmmm...not much else has happened this week. I signed up to run a 5k in October during the Melbourne Marathon. Alycia and Kristen motivated me...Alycia is running the full marathon and Kristen is running the half marathon, so I thought I could at least do the 5k. I think I have persuaded my friend Caroline to run it with me too.
I have really learned to work the QUeen Vic market to my full advantage...I have learned when they give out the most free samples (Friday mid afternoons), so on those days I usually just get my lunch by walking around and trying everything. They best is probably the different kinds of pesto and balsamic vinegar...its incredible.
Since I don't have much else to report, I should say something about the road of death that I have to cross everyday to get to campus. It is amazing that I haven't been hit by a tram or car yet because the road in front of the apartment building is probably the most dangerous intersection on planet Earth. I don't even think an intersection like that would even be legal in the US, and I don't even think I can describe it (I should post pictures...). So there are three lanes total that you have to cross (one has a cross walk, and the cars always stop for you which is nice, but the other two you just kinda have to make a run for it). Then there are tram tracks on the middle lane that go both directions plus one lane of traffic and the last one is just one lane. Bottom line...I sprint across the street praying not to get hit everyday. No, it's not that bad, but I have seen some awfully close calls...so that's my story.
Tomorrow morning we are leaving for the Great Ocean Road which should be an amazing trip. We are going surfing!!!! AHHHHH!!!! I am pretty psyched. I'll be sure to take lots of pictures!
Hope everyone has a good week!!

PS...I forgot to post this awhile ago, but my mom sent me the banana peanut butter cups and they surpassed expectations. Needless to say they are all gone...anyone want to restock me???? Just kidding. We are going to the Cadburry factory when we go to Tasmania during spring break so I will probably get my fill of chocolate...if that is even possible.
