Hey everyone,
So, I am going to try my best to update every Friday...lets see how that goes. Nothing too exciting has happened this week. I am still trying to get rid of the scabies...I got some new medicine this morning, so I'm going to see how this one works...hopefully better than the last one.
The IES group has decided to have weekly potluck style dinner every Sunday to keep everyone in touch. We had our first one this past week, and it was a lot of fun. Monica (my roomate) and I made bruschetta, and I think everyone was impressed . It's pretty hard to screw it up, especailly when there is such produce from the market. We have also decided to have a Thursday night dinner out in the city. This week we went to Taco Bill. It wasn't the best Mexican food I have ever had, but it was still pretty good. After Taco Bill's we went to one of the gelato places in Little Italy...Gelatisimo. It's the best place, they have 16 diferent flavors of chocolate gelato...yum.
School has been going pretty well so far. I had my first lab for animal physiology which was very boring. Their animal physiology lab is their introduction to statistics lab, which is very similiar to EEB at Gustavus. So most of the stuff we went over had already been drilled into my head, but it should be better this week since we get to work with cain toads. I also had my first tutorial for From Plato to Einstein, and it was very interesting. The tutor is actually the lecturer, which is nice because he knows so much about the material and its obvious he is really passionate about the subject.
On a sadder note, I heard about the bridge collapse in Minneapolis. My condolensces go out to Anne Engebretsen and her family who lost her mother in the tragedy. I hope that everyone else is safe.
Until next week,
Leah
