Dear Friends ….

Hope all's good. Well, it's nearly here. Only two days to go to the start of the Olympics on Friday! Many of you will have had e-mails from a blog site called WordPress saying that I was going to write a blog throughout the Olympics while I'm one of the lucky lucky volunteer Games Makers. Sad news I'm afraid ….. WordPress and I have parted company. I hope you'll understand that it was quite a difficult time and I don't want to talk about it much.

Suffice it to say that we never really hit it off together. I quickly pointed the finger at them saying they were far too difficult and frustrating to work with. They probably thought they were very simple and the problem was me. Maybe six of one and half-a-dozen of another. Who knows? Anyway, it all came to a head a few days ago when it refused point-blank to send test e-mails to someone saying I'd just published a new blog. Words were exchanged and then we just sulked and ignored each other for a while. And I knew in my heart then that there was no going back and it was the right time to move on.

So move on I did. Let me introduce Off Exploring. A good friend made the introduction [thanks again Helen!]. And I'm pleased to say that Off Exploring and I hit it off more or less straightaway. So ignore everything I've said so far about my Olympic blog. It'll be Off Exploring and me together from now on. My plan is to take a notebook with me and write the entry for the day on the train back home and then put them on the blog when I get in. That's the theory anyway ….. we'll see how it goes in practice shall we? I'll do photos as often as I can.

About to set off WEARING MY GAMES MAKER UNIFORM FOR THE FIRST TIME!!! Yes, my first shift is this afternoon!! The word "Royalty" has been mentioned. This is going to be BIG. Tune in again soon for news from the Olympic Park …..
