To celebrate that I have been on the road for 9 months I decided to go pay the Great Barrier Reef some attention.
It was a cold morning and very cloudy, however it didn't get any better as the day went on.
Took around 3 hours to get to the Reef, was like being on a rollercoaster it was so windy and the ocean was swaying really badly, a few people were sick off the side.
We were given wetsuits, fins and I pulled out my own snorkel and mask.
We arrived at the point and I could my gear together and jumped off the side.
I swam against the current and all I remember is coughing a lot of sea water out. It was so choppy every time I tried to look, I kept getting a wave hit me and go over me so the water ended in my snorkel which caused me to swallow sea water instead of breath air, as I am supposed to!!
Anyway got to the reef and it was so impressive, the vast amount of colours and the arrear of fish were just amazing.
There was a diver taking pictures and took one of me and Ed together which was cool.
A little while later I saw the diver pointing at something so went closer and that's when I spotted the clown fishes aka Nemo, they were so beautiful.
Kept swimming for a while but decided to head in for a bit and warm up.
After lunch I decided to go out for another snorkel. We were meant to go to another part of the reef but as it was windy we ended up staying in the same location.
So off I went again and was much better to snorkel not as hard work and saw the same sort of fishes and amazing corals, you could clearly see the colour of them. Also had another picture of me taken whilst snorkelling.
This has been the best reef I have seen, would really recommend it to anyone.
Headed back to land which took another 3 hours and was just as rocky on the way back but was so worth the trip. This cost was $76 for the day.
Paid for the photographs worked out at about $49 for 5 pictures that Ed and I went halves on.
