Next day we set off and drove a good two hours and reached Beerwah which is where Australia zoo is, most famously known to be owned by Steve Irwin's family, Steve tragically died a few years ago, he was attacked by a stingray.
So his wife turned this into a memorial tribute in his name, Steve Irwin, the crocodile hunter.
It was expensive to get in at $59 but was really worth it, saw so many animals, from birds, crocs, koalas, giraffes, rhinos, turtles, elephants…could keep naming animals, but it was a superb set up.
Basically it's a zoo but more like a safari park that you walk or take the mini tram that runs around every 20 minutes and there is ample amount of space for the animals. Even got to hug and have a picture taken with a Koala she was amazing, gripped on really tightly, didn't want to give her back, if I could have I would have brought her home.
