So Journal #2...On Sunday, Miranda(our director here in Grenoble) took us to the Chateau Vizelle. It was where the French Revolution was planned and started. The very first battle took place around Grenoble. It's so cool to be surrounded by so much history. The Chateau is devoted mostly to the Revolution, with huge paintings and sculptures and murals. Beautiful. THere are also sections telling about the different owners. Its great! The park out side of the Chateau was also gorgeous. It was huge with lots of birds and deer. There is also a stream that ran through it. I'm going to take Kate back there so she can see it and we can have a picnic. I was so impressed the whole time. Afterwards when I got back to my house, my host family told me we were going to visit a friend of theirs and go hiking in the mountain. I was excited, but was even more excited when I found out this couple raises horses. I now have a place to go riding whenever Francoise will take me back out. The house and grounds were beautiful. Batisse got to go with us, and ran full speed the entire time we were out there. She even found a new friend, Balzac(pic above) He is a 3 month old Great Prynees.....and soo very friendly. They were playing and chewing on each other the whole time. This couple also had a basset hound and lab, that were both the size of small elephants. It was really hilarious. I can't wait to go back. It was so much fun!!!!
LOVE!
