Kari goes to Lincoln, England
I normally don't have anything on Thursdays but today was meeting with the radio group again to finish discussing our ideas and working out what we were all going to include. On my way to the MHAC building I saw Elli coming out of the accommodations building and she had picked up the post (mail) and I had gotten a package. I love packages and was so excited!!! I got Valentines cookies from my mom along with some hugs and kisses. Yummy! I worked on radio stuff until 3PM. I managed to track Paul down because I had some questions about my project. He had some good insight and was very helpful.
Next I had to venture to the train station to make sure the times I had figured for taking the train to London for my trip to Rome were right. I am glad I stopped and talked to them before just buying the tickets. They are very helpful. Next I had to eat so I tried a Cornish pasty, which is on my list of thing to try. It was at this cute little store off of the high street (main street) called the Oggy Oggy Pasty Company. A lot of people had told me that these were really good and I have to admit I rather liked it and it was pretty tasty.
On my way back to my house I stopped at the library and checked out a few books in the hopes of getting inspiration and ideas for my project. I got back to my room and was so tired because I hadn't been feeling well to begin with and then it had been drizzling most of the day so it was cold and rainy and just didn't help things. I had three cups of tea. One because I was cold and two because tea is so good. I have been on a tea kick lately and lost track of how many cups I had this week.
Its Viv's birthday on Sunday but because of a number of different things we celebrated tonight. Here at Lincoln they have reading week or production week where there are no scheduled classes and everyone is supposed to catch up on stuff. Yeah right, everyone goes home or travels etc. I wish people would clue me in on some of these things and I may have done things a little bit differently. So that was part of the reason we celebrated because a lot of people were going home on Friday. We met at the shed at 9. Viv was finishing up some radio stuff and was going to be there soon. It was 11:15 before she got there. We were a sad group of people waiting for her to show up and were kind of mad that her group members didn't offer to finish without her and let her leave early.
When Viv got there she was all stressed and started crying. I felt so bad. So we headed off to the Cell. It turned out to be a really fun night of dancing. I like going to the cell on Thursday nights with the flat mates. They are fun to dance with. It ended up being a good night even though it started out a little rough.
