Kari goes to Lincoln, England
I was very happy because I didn't have my 9 am lecture. I was still going to get up at a decent time so I didn't have to rush - what did I do? I rolled out of bed at 9:20....stupid stupid...I did have to hurry because my next lecture starts at 10. Breakfast was super fast and I was almost late. As I was walking into the room so was Dave - the guy from my radio class who I ran into at the Delph on Saturday night. He told me that he had tried to get a hold of me after the club because he was missing his wallet. When I had been at the party with Jason - Jason had said to text Dave so I did....but when I talked to him on Monday he said he hadn't gotten it - who knows. Wow - lecture was super boring and I almost fell asleep. After that I went to the library and emailed some friends back before I had to walk back to the MHAC building to meet with Bryan and my group for radio. I hate how everything is spread out and you have to walk so far to get to places. I went to meet them at 12:20 and found out Bryan was sick - I was so pissed because now I had to walk all the way back to the library. I ran into Jason on my way and talked to him and then Phil walked by. Phil said he was going to go and mail a letter and I remembered that I had written postcards the night before and had meant to mail them today anyway so I walked with him. It's a decent walk but that's ok. It took us an hour to walk there and back and then it was almost time for my lecture so we just sat in the atrium for a little while. The radio lecture was actually pretty decent - I followed along and knew what they were talking about for once. After the class - back to the library - that's the only place where you can really hang out and there are computers there. So I wasted a little time on the Internet and then I started reading my assignment for seminar on Tuesday. There were these really annoying girls right next to me in the lab. I couldn't stand the way they talked and then when I printed something the one took my chair - what the hell? I was so pissed at her. My stuff was still sitting there and she had moved to talk to her friend who was behind me. I couldn't read my stuff cuz they were being so annoying - and some people here have really annoying accents - they are in this group!!!! I now had lecture for digital media. I liked this one - it talked about animation which we were going to start in workshop this week. We even got out 10 minutes early I was excited. It was now 6PM. What a day and I was really tired because I had only gotten four hours of sleep. I came back and talked to two of my friends from back home on MSN and then got ready to go out to dinner. I had to meet at 7:20. I was going out for Indian food with Sarah and Jason, (the other Americans) Phil, (student from Lincoln who was at MSUM last fall) and Nigel Morris and Tom Nicholls (two professors from the department who are actively involved with the exchange program). Nigel is the main contact with Moorhead for the program and Tom visited in September and also picked us up from the airport. The place we went to was called Malabar Junction and was authentic south Indian food. We got to the restaurant around 8 and had drinks and then appetizers and then the main course. It was good and the part that I enjoyed the most was the company. It was a really good conversation and I couldn't believe it when it was about 10:15 when we left the restaurant - what a good night. I was really full and had really enjoyed myself. I didn't do a whole lot when I got home. I talked to Kim on Skype for close to an hour and a few other people on MSN. I think it was close to 3 when I did go to bed. I have to start going to bed earlier. Oh well.
