Kari goes to Lincoln, England
This morning I had seminar at 11Amand I was going to get up at 9 and get stuff done. Just kidding I woke up at 10 and was super slow and lazy and didn't get time to eat breakfast. I settled for an apple instead. One of my group members commented about me eating an apple. So we went to work on our 30-second experimental radio piece about the word romance. It was a little bit of a struggle and we got a slow start because Annabelle and Dave weren't quite sure how to use the equipment in studio number two. So Bryan came in and brought us up to speed, but sometimes he goes a little too in-depth. He rambled on for about 15 minutes, which was precious time. Then we got to work importing the rest of our tracks and then editing them and putting them together. I just sat back and let them work on it, because although I did know what I was doing, I wasn't feeling that well and just couldn't deal with trying to figure it out at the moment. I told them next time that I would step up to the plate. Bryan came back in a few minutes before it was due and helped us add reverb to it. I don't quite understand how and why this is done but that's ok - it was crunch time and I was not going to bother with stupid questions. We finished up and had to meet back in Studio one to listen to the other groups projects. There were three other groups. Between workshop and seminar we get a 15 min break and then we have to come back for an hour. Normally we have Dave but he was gone today so we had Bryan for the both of them. Break was kind of fun I talked to Dave, Harry, Danielle, another Dave and Annabelle. I like them. Harry asked how my birthday was....I hate that so many people remember cuz then I have to tell them that it wasn't that great. Seminar was pretty typical. We talked about adverts. After seminar I went and figured out my Internet issues, because I still did not have access and was using Ellis name and password. They finally figured it out and I got a password. I went over to the Atrium and had lasagna and chips (fries) because I had to go and talk to Bryan about the Radio in schools thing. I was concerned about meeting with the kids on Friday because I wanted to travel and he was like talk to your group and see what they can do. After I talked to Bryan I went to the library. I got on to the computers - FINALLY. While I was sitting there I overheard two kids talking about America and greyhound and such. So I kind of joined in their conversation. They guy spent the summer at a camp in Missouri and the girl is going to travel for a year when she graduates and is going to go all over - Australia, New Zealand and a few other places, but she will be in America for about 3 months. Sounds like a fun trip - those people were cool and the guy was so excited that he met me. So now my library card works, so I checked out some books to start looking over for my one class. I couldn't use the self- check out cuz my card didn't work. So I had to go to the desk and he got everything figured out. I am sick of stuff not working here. This school is kind of messed up. I came back to my room and took a nap. I woke up around 10pm and because of this it was close to 5am when I fell asleep. I am tired of being sick and sleeping weird hours. But today I was miserable and did stuff from 11 to 5 so that was a lot for me to do considering how tired I had been and compared to what I had done the day before which was hardly anything. I did manage to come up with a little speech for the next day and also worked on my proposal for my digital media class so it was a good night.
