Day 19
I woke up with the sound of "they're here boys" as I'm laying in the living room in my sleeping bag in my boxers… So I jump up and pull my shirt and pants on from yesterday and Josh and I crammed all our stuff into the closet (a whole lot of stuff for one hall closet). The movers were really nice though and a whole lot stronger than they looked but the whole morning and early afternoon progressed with us just watching them as I checked off the numbers that were listed on each box. It was kind of funny because through the entire process the guys would ask me where things would go and I'd just be like umm…. "here where does this go" asking one of the family members. The land lord came in in the middle of the chaos to finalize the contract. He's a really interesting man, but he told us that alaska residents don't have to pay state taxes or sale taxes but instead get an oil dividend check from the state government each year which averages $2500 to $3500 for every man woman or child, thats a sweet deal. So we grabbed breakfast/lunch (I kinda hate this two meal a day thing) in the middle of the guys being there and then they left about 2 or 3. After staying at the newly cluttered house for a bit Josh Bonnie and I left to go shopping. Bonnie bought a closet organizer from Lowe's to go in their master suite because there isn't really a closet thing. The store had a little cafe when you walked in so I got an italian soda. Yum. We went to the AT&T store afterward to figure out what I needed to do to get the new iPhone since I couldn't order it off the Apple website because of the whole Alaska thing, and the Gonzales' wanted to switch to AT&T so we figured that out for them. Anyway, the mall that the store was in was insane! Three stories tall with a bowling alley and movie theater, but the coolest thing was when we walked in there was a ice hockey rink on the level below us with a big cut out so you could watch what was going on (just kids practicing), but it was really cool to see. Found our way back home and Bonnie wanted to make some of her dutch oven recipes that she had planned for when we camped but it was always to cold. There have been big military jets that pass over periodically which is pretty cool to see. Later while I was working on my movie (my computer has a special screenplay format on the word processor) Bryan connected the TV and sound system and him, Josh, and me watched the movie Vantage Point, which was very good. I got my own room and a bed for the first time which was sooo nice and for the first time there was noone to wake me up so I slept till noon :).
Breakfast: Bagels benedict from a really good local bagel place
Lunch: Raspberry Italian Soda
Dinner: Some really salty hamburger stuff with a blueberry cake kinda thing that was just a pile of green mush.
P.S. Check out all my new photos!
