So it has been raining pretty much continuously since Thursday last week. There has been so much rain the rivers and dams have come to the brink and in some areas burst their banks.
The dirt tracks that get me to my house are completely flooded with water almost to my knees.
Luckily my house is absolutely fine as the base is a half foot high then the house is raised by three steps again, so its fine.
But trying to cycle dirt tracks with a million pot holes hidden by the water is tricky! I nearly ended up in a heap a dozen times, but I didn't :-).
Definitely had to have a good scrub when I got in though as one of the tracks had raw sewage and rubbish also... once I realised that I took another route.... eurgh!!
Cycling back home on the worst evening (Friday) the roads were so flooded motobikes were getting sruck as the water was flooding the engines. As I passed one of the hotels there was a congestion of cars, bikes and bicycles as it was difficult to manouvre as the roads are too covered in pot holes, a car drove passes me at a stupid speed and shot a giant wave of dirty water in my face. It hit my left side, my entire side and my face so hard that I was shoved and nearly fell off my bike. One way to annoy me ...I would have thrown water in his face if he had stopped or had slowed. But I didn't, I just hope that one day he gets very wet and falls into a dirty sewer with leeches. Ha no I don't wish that really but DONT drive so fast in floods and rain!!
The office was flooded over the bank holiday (Thurs to Mon) so we were unable to go to work Tuesday (8th). I had arranged for Mr Se to come and pick me up as Lita had already earned me that it was to flooded for my bike. But just as Mr Se arrived Lita gave me a call to let me know that we couldn't work and we couldn't work from our temporary base as it was too, flooded.
On the afternoon of the 9th TLC had arranges for the old premisses to beused. TLC had moved ffrom these premises about a year ago as they had grown to large.
They are on the other side of town and the other side of the river and were flood free.
We workers from here the remainder of the week.
I managed to be bitten a thousand times.by the mosquitoes despite wearing repellent as the offices have not been used and were a beautiful home for the mozzies. They were in for a great with a Barang on the menu.
Thank goodness for antihistamine, I have needed them during my time in Asia!
