Arrived in Wellington quite late wednesday afternoon, lots of rain! Ollie and I luckily got the last two beds in the hostel......Shame one was on the 3rd floor and the other on the 7th! Went for a nandos, it doesn't taste anything like it does in England, serves us right for going really! Spent a night at a lodge I'm the middle of nowhere, was really nice and by a river, just spent the afternoon at the riverside and had a few drinks, used the sauna in the morning which was a bit of a treat then headed off for Wellington. On the way to Wellington we stopped at a place called "bulls" the had really bought into the name of the town.....see pic. Over and out Han x

OH MY GOD! I have been to hell and back . . . . .or so it feels! We were hiking for 6 hours and it rained constantly, it was so cold near the top and our hands were swollen from it! Challenging moment when my shoelaces came undone and it took us both to do them back up where we could barely move our hands. Great sense of achievement though and bus driver brought everyone chips on the way back to Taupo . . . . .was nice to hold them and warm my hands! haha Ove...

Arrived in Taupo this afternoon, weather beautiful and went to go and check out the thermal springs.... Seriously hot flow of water going into the main river, you had to be careful where you positioned yourself! Had a good swim in the river to and posed underwater (see pic) Had some "hokey pokey" flac our ice cream......definatley having some of that again. Went for a few drinks in the bar and did the quiz with some of the people from our bus . . .Ollie got on...

Arrived in Waitomo, another lovely hostel holiday park type thing, population where we were staying only 80! Had quite alot of rain and saw some weather warnings on the news....hopefully won't follow us down! We were supposed to be picked up from the hostel at 9 for a tour in the caves but 9:30 came and no one had arrived to collect us, they had booked us on the wrong tour....really disappointed but our bus guide spoke to them and managed to get us the tour f...
