Well, I know its been a while so I thought I should update... sorry for being really slack!

I moved into a new flat in Bellas Artes just over 2 weeks ago, there lives a French guy and a Chilean girl. its different from living with the family and its nice to have my independence back!

Summer has really hit here and I`m finding the heat really tough.. I thought I would be fine after visiting such tropical hotspots as Egypt and South East Asia, but really nothing prepared me for living day in and day out in the heat...The metro is a nightmare! I can`t sleep and struggle to really even eat much (for the first time in my life!!) we don`t even have a fan in our flat so I find it difficult. To top it all off I got really sunburnt yesterday, so now I`m twice as hot constantly. Great.

I`m spending Christmas with Helena and her family which will be lovely and then New Years in Valparaiso with the girls. Then at the beginning of January I`m heading to Buenos Aires for a couple of weeks to travel round and also go to Spanish school. I`m in talks with my travel agent trying to get a cheap flight to be home in February but I`m not sure if I will be able to pull it off! At the moment its looking like around 2 grand NZ so that might break the bank...but will keep the folks in NZ updated about that one, am open for sponsorship haha!

Today I`m off to an Asado (BBQ) on San Cristobel Hill and will be doing the best to stay out of the sun, with my NZ non sun tolerant freckled skin. I do have a quote for everyone though.. I saw one of my students while I was wondering around looking for friends at the pool yesterday, we were chatting and I was like, "I can`t seem to find my friends", "oh" he says "there is a big bunch of gringas over there, I think thats who you are looking for". And he was right! Well, Chilenos are nothing but honest...
