So this is how this week has gone so far...
Was offered another job on Friday. Told Carlos (possible new boss) that I would talk to current boss. Monday, talk to Ivan current boss. He said it would be good if I could work till the end of the month. I agree, fair enough. Go to Carlos, tell him I can´t start till the end of the month. He says he wants me to start on this Wednesday, but he´s happy to wait. Tuesday, Ivan tells me that I need to decide by afternoon if I want to stay at current job. What? thats new.. I thought I could work till the end of the month. nope his boss says no. I ring Carlos to see if I can start right away. With no contract what if I get to the end of the month and have neither job? Panic stations as I can´t get hold of Carlos. Stress!! fold under the pressure and need a cigarette. first in about 9 months. I am justifying it by the fact that in 2 weeks, I have gone from no job to 2 and now back to 0!! buy cigarettes for $2 NZ. I decide i hate Santiago and am leaving. Tell Ivan that I´m leaving current job, and he tells me that today will be my last day - so much for being open about things! For about an hour am panicked and have convinced myself to book a flight home, also after a manic email to Mum! FINALLY get hold of Carlos, who by now thinks I am a complete loose unit after changing my mind about when I want to start about 15 times. Carlos tells me to come in and see him. Another panic. uh oh maybe I don´t have the job? s***. The 15 minute metro ride to Carlos is a nightmare. Get to new place and he tells me before I can be confirmed I will need to do a demo lesson for critique. tomorrow morning. so! not out of the woods yet, but hopefully I pass the critique and can start new job asap.
