Okay, am now officially over the drama that was getting paid from Tronwell. Since then I have successfully navigated both the extranjera office for my work visa and the internal affairs office for my tax number. Both a nightmare.. the extranjera office especially as I waited 2 hours, for a guy to stamp and print out my visa which could have been done in 5 minutes. But I won`t go into that...
Got my first full pay check since being made redundant and man how exciting that was! Last week also went to an inter cambio (we speak 45 mins in Spanish and 45 minutes in English) was pretty sweet.. especially can`t believe that I can now speak 45 minutes in Spanish!! I met some girls who are volunteering here in Chile and went along to their girls night the next night. We went out in Providenca (good for me... just down the road..) paid 2000 pesos to get into a club and all they paid was the crappiest reggatron I have ever heard!! Danced for a while and then vamosed.
Woke up this morning and thought... man I need to get out of Santiago. It was so hot in my room I couldn`t even breathe and felt like a change. Being the loner that I am, I guess I`m lucky in one sense that I can just do what I like. Hoped on a bus to Valparaiso and thought maaan this bus is full, I wonder why everyone is going to Valpo? hadn`t booked a hostel or anything. Turns out its Halloween which is bigger than big here and everyone comes to Valpo! Well, a lady at the hostel took pity on me... probably thought, what a dumbo doesn`t she know there`s a party on.. and she said everything was full. Well, she gave me a really nice double room for the price of a single and its perfect. Exactly the break I need. So did some sightseeing today, chatted to some locals and decided I could live here its a pretty cool town. Back to Santiago tomorrow via beach side town Isla Negra where I can see the third and last Pablo Neruda house (the last before he died).
