We got ready this morning and left Devil's Tower NM shortly after 10, but not before an adventure. Shila escaped from the RV. She had been keeping an eye on the bunnies and birds through the window and darted out when we were packing up. She finally listened and came to Kati for treats, but not before taking a few huge laps around the field next to the campground. It was pretty scary because we were in the front part of the Campground which faces the road.
We drove about 125 miles and by lunch time we were in Buffalo, WY. We filled the gas tank then found parking and walked over to Main Street for lunch. We wanted to check the Continental hotel, but Google maps was acting up pointing our location to a different street so we were not sure where to go. I thought we were only a block away but it turned out not to be. There were bad storms predicted for that area in the afternoon, so we decided to go.
We crossed the Bighorn Mountains at the southern end on Route 16. This is said to be the easier route. It was a beautiful drive and we were able to enjoy the views through the huge windshield in our class A RV. We drove through them 8 years ago on Route 14, but the cab over in our class C back then blocked the view.
We drove the rest of the way to Cody WY. I called a campground looking for a spot and they put one on hold for us. About 6:30 we arrived and are settled in for the night. Glad I called ahead because the Campground looks like it's filing up fast.
We are all relaxing catching up with our different hobbies as this could be the last of the signal we see for a while.
