In a little over two weeks we will head out on our road trip for this year. I feel like I should be doing something to get ready for it, but I run thorugh the list on my head and it seems that there will be plenty of time for the few items on the days before the trip.
Even though there are stores along the way, I do like to take it fully stocked.
Here is a list of what we need to do to get ready:
Honey-do list:
- Fill water tank
- Check Tire pressure
- Clean windshield and apply RainX
- Clean Air conditioner filters
- pack clothes, shoes and electronics
- Fill up with gas
- Clean out car (towing vehicle)
**the RV already had the start of the season maintenance done.
My list:
- get trip binder together - route, cg information, trip itenerary and reservation confirmation
- Pack navigation tools
- Pack my clothes, shoes and personal items
- Check games cabinet
- Pack hiking equipment (shoes, jackets, camel packs)
- Restock toiletries and supplies
- food shopping
- Pack water items (bathing suits, towels, water shoes)
Daughter list
- clothes, shoes, personal items
- Dog food and misc items
- Dog certificates
Usullay 3 days of a couple of hours in the evening is all we need, or a full day the day before.
I was reading a blog from someone who basically lives part time out of their RV and they spend a month packing for their 4 month trips. I am not sure what possible they could be packing for that long. One good Sunday before the season starts is all it takes us to bring it out of the Winter Slumber, aside from the visit to the mechanic of course.
After that, we can pack in no time. For our winter trip last year we were packed in 5 hrs in the morning and headed out right after lunch.
