On the weekend, Kerry and I went to Newcastle. My family bought Kerry and I tickets to see an Australian singer, Josh Pyke who is on a UK tour. We had already seen Josh in Adelaide, but it was a real treat to see him over here. After the concert we got a skin full of booze at a pub which Kerry's friend works at, who had promised us a night of free drinks if we came to the bar she works at. After getting suitably sloshed on English beer, we went back to a fancy hotel (courtesy of my family also, thankyou) to sleep it off.
The next morning, feeling a little seedy we went to find some breakfast (which was really lunch) along the river in Newcastle. Fat and happy, we hopped on the train back to Durham (about 20 mins) and Kerry trotted off to her pub to work.
Sunday was spent enjoying a sunday roast at our local pub. For 5 pounds each we can get a massive roast piled with vegies. Our favourite roast so far is the Mushroom roast, Mmmmm. Sunday night we organised to see the new Pirates of the Carribean movie which made us both very happy.
It continues to get warmer over here, most days see temperatures of 20-25 degs. The locals wonder how we put up with this heat back in Aus all the time. They gape wide mouthed when i tell them this heat is the equivalent of our winter. The days are really long now, it gets dark somewhere around 10pm and i suspect but cannot confirm that it is light at 4am.
