Heath and I would like to announce that as of last Sunday we are the proud new owners of a 12 year old, dark green Volkswagon Polo! We have named him Buster, in honor of one of Heath's fave childhood stories (Buster's Day Out) and in honor of all the days out we are going to have! According to everyone we've spoken to about it, we got quite the bargain so we're very pleased with our new purchase. We're already planning on visiting Oxford pretty soon to see Mike (an English friend from Joeyglide) and also heading up to Scotland. We have a new home! We've moved from next door into our permanant address and it's lovely. The girls we're sharing with are a bit younger than us and have just moved out of home, so they've gone to town decorating and making it very home-like. As the landlord has just bought the place and we're the first tenants everything is completely new - I had a fun time unpacking all the boxes full of kitchen gear. Our flatmates are really cruisy and i think we're going to be very happy there. I had my first night at the Irish pub last night and had a great time - although i can't pull a beer to save myself! Don't even think about a Guinness - although i did learn how to make the shamrock on the top (very wonkily). i haven't told them that i've never really tried Guinness before - they don't seem to care that i've never worked in a bar before, but not drinking guinness might be sacrilege. The great thing about pubs here is that they close early - the latest i'll ever work is 12:30am on a saturday night. Everyone moves onto the nightclubs after that. Durham does have a great nightlife because the town is so packed with students and a few people have promised to take us out and show us the best places. That's pretty mcuh all the news from this side of the world - we'll put up some photos of our new place very soon, and also some of Durham. We're going to visit the Cathedral tomorrow - it's shocking we've been here a fortnight and haven't even been inside the main tourist attraction! Feeling like quite the local now though : )
