Greetings! We've finally reached London after an 11 hour, 6am flight from Bangalore. Bangalore airport was a bit special (not in the good way). We got there quite early and were dying for caffiene of some sort. After you've been through customs though you aren't allowed back into the main area (which doesn't really consist of anything anyway) and there is only one coffee stand in the gate area. I went to go get us some hot chocolate and the dude behind the counter smiled and said, 'Closed for 10 minutes'. Alright then. 10 minutes later the guy is still standing there not doing anything so Heath goes up. 'Closed for 10 minutes'. Heath argued a bit and asked why he couldn't make us a coffee. The guy turns and points at another guy sleeping behind the counter. Apparently the boss was having a nap and the counter was closed until he woke up - his staff being unable to do anything without him. Despite being outwardly open. India's like that. It was around 1pm London time when we got here and Heath and I managed to stay awake until about 7pm - and didn't wake up until 7am! We both found India sapped us of physical energy, it would get to around lunchtime everyday and I'd be looking for my apple juice and a nanna nap. I'm really glad we went there though, it was an experience. We're staying in a really nice hotel right next to Paddington tube station (we're pros at the tube now, all over it!) for not very much at all - We left it too late to book a backpackers so we looked on lastminute.com and managed to get a room for only £5 more than what a dorm room in a backpackers would cost for the two of us, with an included full English breakfast. God bless the English for inventing the English breakfast. So, all in all a very good deal in uber expensive London! Today we went and sorted out our bank account so we now have lots of lovely English pounds to spend (not really, but if I say we have lots it might come true!). We spent the rest of the day wandering around the Thames and saw the Tower bridge. We've also got tickets to go to a show Monday night before we head north on Tuesday. Heath isn't all that well - he has a talent for catching colds in really hot climates! We both really like London though, going to have a fun time here. And now for more stodgy British food and warm beer! Oh, i completely forgot that when you ask for beer here they give you a proper pint. Must watch that : )
