Friday 13th June:I will let you know how my weekend went. On Friday as said previously I got home and Mike was at work. I rode my bike home and had to tuck my right leg trousers into my multi-coloured stripey knee length socks. I got home in about 15 minutes, first time I got home and Mike wasnt there as he was at work. I decided to make a stew, so I made one with pork, mushrooms, peppers, onions and garlic and let it simmer for an hour. Meanwhile I just went on the internet ate about a gazillion cookies and watched a bit of T.V. Mike got back early about 10.30pm, he wasnt hungry for the stew as he had food at Oakridge, he pretty much ran the bar himself that night and enjoyed it. There was a good Hip Hop night on at Red Rock that night but both of us were shattered so we lounged on the couch for a bit and went to bed. Saturday 14th June: Woke up at 8.45am and quickly got ready to go to the hairdressers, my roots were massive, i got there and told her that I would either go all light brown, red or just get my routes done, I came out bright red! Cost me $145 and this included a $25 bottle of red shampoo so the colour woudnt fade, she said she didnt include the cut on the costs for me as it was just a trim. I can dye it myself from colours I can buy of the shelf in future I just need to pick a shade thats 8 she said. Mike got a bit of a shock and so did James as i hid round the corner before showing them! I loved it at the time, now i'm not so sure. I think i will always suit blonde the best but I needed a change so I think I will be red for the year now and go back blonde when I return to the UK. We had lunch at Finchy's restaurant as it was $10 lunches which is a bargain in Wanaka, especially as the quality of the food there is fantastic, we all got burger and fries which was a good portion size and delicious. Then we booked the River Jet and went over the Cluther river doing turns and speeding past rocks. We couldnt do much in Lake Wanaka as the lake was too low, lowest its ever been I think. The river and Lake Wanaka is sooooooo clear its because it was created by a glacier melt, all rivers and lakes here are so clear we are desperate to jump in but its a bit icy this time of year. The river jet was $90 each. So by 2.00 that day we'd spent $350! b***** we were doing so well this week! That went on my hair, lunch and the river jet. We are working hard though and we only eat out at the weekend. I dont mind spending money on activities so all is good. We quickly rushed back after the river jet ride which by the way is not as exciting as it looks on the flyers! Little boring actually I wouldnt recommend it anyway. We rushed back to get ready for work which we started at 4.00. There were 13 people in for dinner and I did my tables all well. First I have to take them the menus' and put the napkin on their lap and pull out the chair for them. Then I ask if they would like bottled or sparkling water or regular filtered water. I then go back for drink orders, then I ask them for their amuse, starter, and Main and ask if they would like any sides. I have to replace the knife with a steak knife if they are having steak, take the wine glasses away if they arent drinking wine and take the entree cuttlery and plate away if they are not ordering a starter. The only thing i'm a little unsure about is the payment with credit cards etc at the moment. I took a couple of room service meals and mike took them to the room and got a 50c tip bless! All in all a laid back good night and Yogi told us we could go at 9.30. We rushed back, drank as much vodka as we could as it is so damn expensive to drink in Wanaka! Their double's are equivilant to our singles, their doubles is 15ml! And it is expensive. So if you actually want a double it is a quadruple here and you have to buy doubles all night as the singles are just nothing in them! I dont think the kiwis can drink very well, the english can drink much much more and it takes us longer to get drunk and we stay out longer. The kiwis get to drunk too early and head home. We went to the Local bar to watch the Ireland v Oz rugby good atmosphere in there, met james and co and headed for red rock. Had a couple of sambucas again, damn it they make me feel ill! Had a good dance although the music was a bit predictable. We left when it closed and walked to Lees, Mike was playing me a song on the guitar (yes we know he cant play the guitar), he then got locked in Ryans car and we eventually got him out and stumbled to a house party. It was a bit of a crazy party, we got invited to 2 other parties on the way to walking there, people with fires and bbq's and parties all over the place. Me and Mike were really really drunk by then, only stayed about 20 minutes as we didnt know anyone and didnt have any beer so we headed home and shared a taxi with a group of people who had been out on the fancy dress and were headed in our direction. Luckily we only gave them $5 as it usually costs us $15 to get home which is outrageous for a 2 min drive. I forgot to say that we filled a sprite bottle with vodka and lemonade on the way to meeting James in town and walked the 25 minute walk into town when it was raining! This house is a bit annoyingly out of the way. We were going to bike down, but we dont have locks and Mike needs a screwdriver to attach our lights to the bikes. Cant be aresd with another bloody fine! Not that our bikes would get stolen, its such a small town you would see someone riding it the next day! When we got back I made me and mike a cheese and crisp sandwhiches and some ginger biscuits, filled our water bottles and stumbled into bed. Sunday 15th JuneWhen we woke on Sunday there was trail of crisps to the Bedroom from the Kitchen! oooops! Both grim as in the morning complete dry mouth, which we sorted out with two dippy eggs, soldies and a brew. We have the eggs spot on now we put them in the boiling water for 7 minutes. I'm always on egg timer watch and Mike does the toast. He usually washes us aswell! We put the bed setee out and lounged and watched T.V nursing our hangover with a mixture of vitamins and paracetamol. Saying again that we were not going to get that drunk again and not going out next weekend bla bla the usual. I spoke to Mum and Chelsey on facebook messenger. We were supposed to go on msn together she had the cam and headset ready but I forgot to ask James to borrow his headset. It didnt matter anyway as for both of us it says we are off line when we are on line how annoying! Mum is going to get David to sort it out and I'm going to go on Trade Me now and buy a cam. Trade Me is like Ebay over here which everyone uses. But they email you their credict card and bank details which is strange and a bit too trustworthy! I think over here everyone trusts everyone, I do the banking at work and could quite easily pocket money every day but I dont. Luckily I'm a trustworthy person, but maybe the next person might not be? Plus the cheque books and stuff are easily accessable to anyone who breaks in. I've started to write a list of improvements that I think could be made and I will give it to them at the end of my contract. Me and Mike finally got in the shower and got dressed. We walked up to sticky forest the bike track which Mike goes on near our house. It is really good with lots of jumps, narrow bits, rocks, uneven ground etc. We walked to the top and he showed me his route then we walked back home. Only a little exersice for our delecate bodies today! Took us about 45 minutes, we got back and i heated up the pork stew that I made and me and mike ate it, we rate our meals out of 10 each time we have dinner and this was a 9! Great! Mike had a shave. He has to have a shave everyday which he isnt happy about as Oakridge have told him to! He then took the car and went to work at 4.00. We have left the bed settee out and we are going to sleep there tonight. I'm just writing this, then I'm going to wash up and get my stuff ready for work tomorrow. Weather report at the moment not good. Its sunny again and the big dump of snow which made the season look like it was going to be a gooden has all melted away, its just too hot. I'm praying for snow soon though. Snow Park was supposed to open on 18th June but its not looking good now. Coronet Peak in Queenstown opened last week and Shelly text to say her and Cairns had gone up and had a lesson but it was a little icy. We just have to wait 2 more weeks and then I finish my school job and just have evening work! I'm going to snowboard as much as I can and have lessons so I can become really good! Considering all the excersise i'm doing i'm not losing any weight, i'm eating too much I think, pasta with every meal and icecream and cookies every day. I'm desperate to get a flat stomach as t rush me peeps it does not look good! I would say the biggest, flabbiest its ever been. Anway thats all i have to say, until the next blog **sweet as **
