Mike, Shelly and Cairns (Matt) Did the 3rd biggest Bungee in the world where I was just scared to be next to them on the platform! They all did well. Matss was the worst fall as he just jumped instead of dived but it was very funny he did brilliantly as he was really scared. Mikes was the be st fall as bloody usuall like a duck to water didnt bat an eyelid. All the guys were commenting on a brilliant dive. Shelly was more scared than she thought she would be as she is usually very calm and not scared of all this stuff. We all managed to swindle the DVD for free which was good. $220 for thejump though ouch! My new Nan Dolly made me swear I wouldnt do the jump so thats my excuse. Being there though there is no way on this earth i could have done that!
Next off to Oz
Just before we set off for Adelaide we stayed in Christchurch for 2 days. I checked my email and found out I had cancelled my working holiday visa by accident! I was merely saying I would like to cancel my visa but I didn think they would let me. So night before going to oz I had no visa to get in I was so worried! I applied for an ETA which is just a holiday visa. But it was sunday so I was worried it would not be processed in time. Luckily though the next day when I check my emails (the day I was flying) I had an email saying that my ETA was issued! Phewww! Very scary. Also we forgot it was Sunday and when we went to send out bags back to the UK using the company S.B Logistics they were closed! We always forget what day it is over here! So we got up at 7.00am (again the day we were flying) and went to the logistics company to send the stuff back. Luckily it was very easy and hassle free. I think it all weighed 57 kilos altogether which was two snowboard bags with all our snowboard gear, boots, bindings, clothes, phones and a laptop. This cost us $600NZD / 400 pounds which is only 200 pounds each. So we are left with our backpacks. We got the shuttle to and from the airport over those days that came outside of the Base Hostel right in the center of Christchurch. It only cost us $5 each compared to $30 in a taxi. The flight to Adelaide went well, I was still pooing my pants through customs thinking that something might be wrong! There was a screaming kid in the seat behind us on the plane which just refreshed my memory as to why I dont want kids, I get these refreshes quite often. We had to take our time back about 2 hours when we hit Sydney then another 1/2 hour when we got to Adelaide. CC - Sydney was 3hr 20mins and Sydney --- Adelaide is about 2hrs. Adelaide is just a huge city nothing really here for the time of year. We are staying in Hostel 109 where the guy is super helpful. Free Internet. Infact i was on the internet yesterday and recognised the Brummy accent, I said where are you from mate and he only said "bloody Walsall"! Couldnt believe it! My whole family is from there I said! Unfortunately thought Grandad he was a west Bromich fan! We chatted about the Arburitum (dont know how you spell it!) And dancing Kev from the football! Very Very small world. The two hotels we stayed in in CC was room 213 how scary is that? Sorry random comment! So back to Adelaide. Its a bit chilly here but the sun is really hot. You have to go out with your jacket on. I bought a pair of sunnies today as I gave mine to cairns before we left. We are off to Melbourne on the 19th Sept. I managed to get us a mint relocation campervan which is normall approx $120 a day and we got it for $5 a night! Plus they give us $150 petrol! Great it has a shower / toilet / sink / stove! They need to get the van to Melbourne which is great. ive seen another relocation van from Melbourne to Sydney aswell a 6 manner delux! But Mike said we should wait to see what being in the van is like. So we will wait I hope no-one gets it though! Not good weather at the moment. I think we should have gone from the north to South to give it a chance to warm up abit, I wont be able to hit the beach until we get passed Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney and Brisbane! Oh well, It is the beginning of their spring. I have lots of time to sunbathe in Thailand! But I have just found out you are only allowed in the country for 30days so you have to keep going out the country get your passport stamped at the border and come back in again! I've just finished a EXCELLENT book that Matt and Shell gave me called THE DAMAGE DONE set in Thailand Bangkok hilton about drug smuggling Warren Fellows what a brilliant book. I read it all on the coach from queenstown to Christchurch in NZ couldnt put it down. The things he went through its just terrible. Anyway I better go speak soon peeps Hayley and Mike x x
