My roommate and I slept until one o'clock this afternoon. With our sunroof blinds closed, it is dark as night in our room, even at noon, which makes it easy to sleep the day away. I think I want to get those for my room, but then I would never wake up in time for class.
At four o'clock, we had a tour with our art history class. We were meeting at the Piazza della Minerva, so I checked the map to figure out how to get there. The route looked fairly simple, but I decided leave around three, just to be sure I would get there on time. I waited in the lobby for a bit to see if anyone else from the class was getting ready to leave, but at ten after I still hadn't seen anyone, so I made my way to the subway station. It was about a 15-minute walk from the station where I got off to the piazza, but I had my map with me for street names and had no trouble finding it.
When I arrived at five minutes to four, I was the first one there, and for a little while I thought I was going to be the only one. Around quarter after, two more people showed up and at almost half past, four others, Joe, Ali, Alexa and Dan, arrived. Apparently everyone had a hard time finding the spot where we were meeting. When we got back to the hotel, we found out that more people had planned to go, but never did make it because they couldn't find the piazza.
The tour was really long, but we saw some interesting sights. We went into two different churches, the Pantheon, the Jewish ghetto, and walked all around the city. At the end of the tour, we travelled back to the hotel on an extremely crowded bus and I met up with Sam (my roommate), Tony, Kayla and Victoria to get something to eat.
There is a restaurant a few blocks from our hotel that Antonio had recommended, so we decided to go there. Everything was delicious! For an appetizer we had something sort of like a rice ball with cheese and spices and for my entree I had pesto and tortellini. On our way back to the hotel, we had to stop for gelato (I haven't missed a day yet). Coconut and mango today.
