Presumably I must be doing something right. I have been asked to go from two sessions a week to 5 sessions a week. They want me to keep my current elite group going and start another 3 basic level groups at one session each per week. I assume basic means able to say 'Hello'; we will see. Even more amusing they want me to start a group for local youths starting in October and want to drum up local talent by………….wait for it……….. appearing in a TV ad! Not sure at all about that but it does mean that they feel there is some mileage in what we are doing. Raj suggested we look at doing a 10 week course and has written to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to extend my visa. Given that Ny Andry in my current class is apparently the son of the last Foreign Minister that is a foregone conclusion they say. I then raised the issue of moving around the country which Raj also thinks is a good idea but said I should go by road rather than plane because that's boring. I agreed but said we would have to look at transport and accommodation and who pays. "Of course," he said and smiled. No idea what the smile meant but I think they are getting enough for free.
Still; moves in the right direction I think.

Anne-Marie You always were a star in the classroom! Come on you know all about "basic" language lessons after all those years in the C block. Would you like some help with a taster demo lesson for your TV appearance?! Make sure you secure the services of the desirable and co-operative kids in your elite group who can pretend to be beginners making amazing and outstanding progress. Off to Alsace at the end of the week - and some time in Germany of course! Just the two of you? Enjoy! We retirees do holiday at the best of times - but don't tell Maura I said so.
