Angela & I would like to thank everyone we met back in the UK over the last month, you have all been very kind and generous, as always.
Special thanks to Dad, who is now in Southern Spain, Rob (for allowing us to take over his flat, his MG and his diet) Paula, for ensuring we got to Heathrow in plenty of time, to Karen & Graham, Phil & Sue, Lesley & Bill, Rob & Gill for wining and dining us and to Alan & Jane, Terry & Jan (good luck with Spain) and Gary & Sophie for making the journey over to Greenhithe.
Particular thanks to Pat & Roger De La Harpe here in South Africa for acting as the contact point between us, Dad and Angela's parents Jo & John back in the UK over the last 5-6 weeks, in what were very difficult circumstances.
Also thanks to all Dad's friends, neighbours and relatives for rallying around when help was most needed and for all you did during Mum's illness and after her death.
Finally, and not least, I'd like to thank Angela for being a rock over the last 6 weeks, her tireless love, help and support even at the lowest moments has been vital to me.
If there is anyone I've forgotten please accept my apologies as I'm currently in an internet cafe full of 8 year old kids playing Grand Theft Auto or "Shoot anything that moves". The noise is incredible but almost drowned out by the poor squawking parrot in a cage, he also objects to the noise! The Pool hall in the next room doesn't help my thought processes either!
We are camping at Monate Lodge just outside Upington whilst the Landrover is repaired (don't get me started, the drive shaft is b*ggered, a mere 700 pounds to replace plus labour, and we have an oil leak.......)
Whilst we wait for the part to arrive we'll be thinking about where to go next.
The postcard to accompany the Nossob 4X4 Eco trail will follow shortly.
