Day 10
Stirling
Strength recovering and spirits rising. A days rest makes a world of difference and so does some decent food. It's still not easy to eat a full meal but it's getting better and I can feel my strength returning.
Outside it's raining cats and dogs. In June 2009, when I last cycled this route it rained every day, but when you're fresh you can burn it off. Hopefully by tomorrow morning I'll be back to full strength and ready to give it a proper crack of the whip. Winds are at 25mph right now. Tomorrow they're due to reduce a little.
Stirling YHA is a nice comfortable hostel in a converted church. I'm just down the road from the castle and the old jail! No intention of ending up in there!
Biggest treat so far has been buying a copy of The Times and catching up on the news. Even if it is a Scottish Edition! It's surprising how isolated we are in the South from the sorts of local concerns written about up here.
Hope everyone is well back home. Thanks for all the encouragement and support. It's hugely appreciated!

Update. 8pm
Dinner dispatched with far more gusto. That's more like it! I've decided to carry on and hit the road to Glen Coe in the morning. It's 80 miles again, but I've had a rest and well, it's why I came after all.
Lots of support has been coming though so I'd like to say some thank you's. To Sarah for texting all day long! To Polly for doing the same. I certainly appreciate it! To Chris, someone who knows how insane this is and that really helps. To Mum and Dad who have been very good at putting up with my bad moods these last two days. Sorry for being in a rut and thanks for the love which never gets switched off. Tom, who's in warmer climes. And the people I've met in Stirling, Gerry from Germany in particular. I wish I had his two wheels. They have an engine attached!
So. Off to Glen Coe. First half of the day is forecast to be dry and then it will rain. Hey ho. That's why I brought the goretex!
Night all,
Will
