So I havn't really been up to much the past couple of days. Been pretty lazy I guess. But I did get some good news, I have an interview at K&H international school on tuesday! Now I just need to come up with fun, interesting, and exciting 15 minute demo lesson. Hmmmm.... let the research begin! I am also going to try to look into another school that Kevin's friend just got a job at.

The connection to this friend is rather funny though. If any of you remember the boy band B2K from back in the day? well Kevin is friends with Raz B one of the guys from B2K. They met at a game store down the street from Kevin's apartment. And i have to say Raz is a pretty cool guy. I met his girlfriend Mika yesterday. And she is the one who got the job teaching at an English school. She said they are looking from teachers right now because the school year starts at the beginning of September. I'm trying to convince Kevin to get a job there too. I think it would a lot of fun to work with Mika and Kevin. But I definitely need to find out more details about the school and such.

And for a lack of anything else interesting to tell you guys about. I'm going to list some awesome and non-awesome things about the Shanghai subway system for you!

AWESOME:

• Super clean
• Super cheap. I dont think I've spent more than $1.25 USD on a ride. The system here goes by the distance you travel, not just a flat rate. And I live really far from everywhere I go.
• The signs are super clear, at all the platforms signs show the stops in order. There is very little confusion as to which direction to go unlike the NYC subways with the uptown/downtown/towards _____ signs. What if youre a huge n00b and dont know?
• There are railings or complete sliding doors to block off the tracks. no fear of getting pushed!
• the lines go EVERYwhere
• A/C always works and the platforms have A/C

Not Awesome

• They stop running at like 10:30!!!!!!
• People seriously POUNCE on empty seats.
• No one waits for people to get off the subways before trying to push on.
