Hello everyone! After a long day of travel I have finally arrived in Shanghai. I left my house in Renton at 3:00am on August 1st and arrived in Shanghai August 2nd at 3:30pm and with a 15 hr time difference... I guess thats about 21 hours of travel? Thankfully I had no problems with my flights and none of my baggage was lost!

My first flight was from SeaTac to Vancouver. The plane that we took was by far the scariest and smallest plane I've ever been on. It was a propeller plane and when we were actually flying, the sound was so loud I had to put my headphones in just to use as earplugs. And the entire plane was shaking the whole time. Like a constant massage. Thankfully, the flight was only 35 minutes long!

On the flight from Vancouver to Shanghai, we got some interesting food on the plane. 3 meals in total, first was chicken with couscous (the food so good they named it twice), then some pasta, and the last meal was cup of noodles. Hahaha they actually just handed everyone the instant cups of noodles. I seemed to have perfect timing on the flight as well as the first two times I woke up from my naps right as the food cart was coming by. I literally just slept and ate and slept and ate and then watched two movies.

It is hot and muggy here, but apparently I'm lucky because it was raining earlier here so its a bit cooler. Just looked up the weather and its only 83 but it says it feels like 93. To me, it just feels like a sauna. I'm staying with my Mom's friend's nephew Hilbert (what a great american name!) tonight. Thats why this post is from Songjiang. Tomorrow night my Mom's friend Tianshen will pick me up and we will go stay at his place in Pudong. Then hopefully I will meet up with my cousin Kevin and start figuring out my plans for the future!

Interesting Shanghai fact:

- The population of Shanghai is aroudn 30 million people!

Anyways, I'm glad I was able to find a blog site that works in China! I will try to update this often so check back to hear more about my adventures. <3 <3
