So the most exciting thing that I did today was go to a local supermarket pretty close to where I'm living now. Now when I say supermarket I mean SUPERmarket and when I said exciting I'd like to rephrase that to terrifying. It was, I think, 3-4 huge floors of pretty much anything you could possibly want to buy. Think of Walmart on super steriods. So not only was the store bigger than almost every store ive seen in America, it was so crowded that it looked like Black Friday. My uncle told me that the store was ALWAYS this busy. It was hard to push a cart all the way through an isle without either being in someones way or someone getting in your way.
It was genuinely a terrifying experience. Thankfully this isnt the only place to buy things otherwise I think I'd pack up and head back to Seattle tomorrow. Seriously, it was a traumatizing experience. I also don't think I would ever be able to remember where anything was! We had to ride flat escalators up and down. They had grooves in them so the carts wouldnt roll away which was pretty cool.
OH! I also got to walk around this maze of alley ways that had tons of tiny little shops. The bottom floor of the buildings are all shops but the several floors above them are all still old apartments. It was kind of funny that you could be walking around looking at the shops and then look up and see people's laundry hung out to dry. haha
Anyways, tomorrow I think will be an intense research day. I'm still on the job hunt and am actually getting pretty stressed about it. Hopefully soon something will pop up and I can actually get situated here.
