Day 12. Another lovely day dawned in Townsville as we packed up and headed north through Ingham and Tully to Mission Beach. We drove into some misty drizzle as we drove into Mission Beach but we saw our first cassowary by the side of the road. How lucky was that! Nowhere to stop and take a photo unfortunately. Our CP is lovely and right on Wongaling Beach opposite Dunk Island. The beach is part of Mission/South Mission Beach, which together stretch for a few kilometers. Although our CP is spacious and private, there are lots of eateries around and a shopping center down the road, although it does not impinge on our park. All we need is some sun and more cassowaries to appear for perfection!
