Have enjoyed a blissful week in the pearl of the Kimberley, Broome. Watched the 'Harry' finale in the oldest outdoor movie house in Chinatown, the Sun Cinema. Canvas seats, planes landing almost on top of you and geckos running amuck on the big screen........added to a great night of entertainment! Kids participated in the Broome sunset series surf carnival held on Cable Beach. As the numbers are small, clubs join together which makes it a very social affair!...

After passing huge road trains which were so wide you had to drive off the bitumen and battling more rain, we finally arrived at Barn Hill Station. It is a working cattle station with 8000 head of cows roughly 120 km south of Broome. We slowly made our way in on a bumpy, dirt road through 3 cattle fences to be greeted at the end by a lawn bowls competition being played by the campers. We drove out of Karijini through the Munjina gorge and headed north hoping to leave the rain behind us. Roughly four hours later arrived at Port Hedland in cyclonic conditions. Welcomed into Karijini with a dingo sighting and spent the next 3 nights in this amazing park. Spent all day Saturday exploring Dales gorge. Walked along the ridge before heading down to Fortescue Falls. All swam in fern pool before scrambling down the face of the falls and walking inside the gorge to circular pool. After a chilly start and a hiccup with hooking up the trailer, we head north east. For the first couple of hours it was just us on the straight, flat road until you reach the Nanutarra roadhouse which is a buzz with activity.
