Topped up at the Imintji Store with fuel and bought some fresh produce, a loaf of frozen bread for $4.50, 5 apples at $1.50 each and piping hot chocolate chip muffins.
Set up camp at Mt Barnett Roadhouse and an afternoon walk into Manning Gorge. Starts from the camping ground and you swim across the river floating your valuables in polystyrene boxes.
The path is marked by glittering silver plastic strips hanging from the trees and winds up rocky sandstone outcrops. It then flattens out and you walk along a dirt track before heading down more rocks to a little sandy beach. Around the corner a huge waterfall and swimming pool.
Pretty walk out just on dusk with the soft colours. Finished with a cool off in the river and a bit of excitement when Siobhain thought she was standing on a freshy. She did go back the next morning to check and she assures us the rock had moved.
As we were packing up met Hans, a guitar playing Kiwi (born in Amsterdam but moved to NZ when he was a young boy) who let the girls have a turn on his guitar. We hadn't been able to squeeze our guitars in, only room for a set of golf clubs!
