Coral Bay has lived up to our expectations.
Ten days have been easily filled snorkelling, fishing and swimming with the stingrays at sunset.
Have made the trip into Exmouth twice, the second time venturing into Cape Range National Park. After lunching on bush pancakes, ham and egg jaffles, we walked the Yardie Creek Gorge before snorkelling at Turquoise Beach.
The drive up and back is dotted with enormous termite mounds which look like giant mud men emerging from the red earth. Just on dusk the drive becomes a little hairy as you have to watch out for echidnas, cows, massive bulls, sheep, goats and roos.
One of the highlights has been the day cruise onto the Ningaloo reef. Once you are kitted up, it is a short bus ride out to the marina to board the Kurni-ku. We swam with majestic manta rays, saw green turtles, every size of fish, distant dugongs plus humpbacks breaching. It was freezing on board but it didn't stop the enthusiasm to jump back in!
Spent our last night, successfully fishing off the marina, not table size so set them free again. Spotted the resident 2 meter groper named "Merv" and said our goodbyes!
