Crossed the infamous Pentecost river with jabirus in the distance into El Questro Wilderness Park. Spent the next 3 days camped on the river bank exploring Amalia Gorge, Zebedee Springs, Emma Gorge and El Questro Gorge.
Hard to pick a favourite as all have something special about them. Emma Gorge is small but has such sheer walls and is icy cold. The springs are a little tropical oasis and we arrived early to try and miss the crowds. Cute boardwalk in with tropical palms on one side and savannah woodlands on the other. Great to soak in the bath like water and try to get rid of some of the embedded dirt.
El Questro Gorge was my personal favourite, we could only get to the first water hole as from there it got fairly technical but you felt like you were back in time and a dinosaur could meet you at any turn.
On our last night, there was the all you can eat BBQ under the stars with open fires and entertainment. Bit special meat, fish, fresh salad and a huge selection of sweets all served up on crockery with napkins.
