Well, I left and I think it seems quite fitting that it was a bloody miserable morning - it absolutely threw it down in the morning and I had to get a shuttle bus to pick me up from the house to the airport because Chris's lights on the van weren't working and the weather was too bad to drive it like that.
So I said good bye and thank you to Jacqueline and Dale for everything and letting me stay so long and then finished packing before the guy from the shuttle bus picked me up - I gave Chris a big hug, told him I knew it would be hard without me, but he'd survive -I also said thank you, and told him I'd see him soon!
I spoke to shuttle driver about the rugby for most of the way to the airport, along the way we picked up a few other people, one girl going to Bali on holiday. When we got to the airport she realised she had picked up the wrong passport, swore like a trooper, kept repeating that she was gonna be sick, then ran out of the shuttle and straight into a taxi to go home and get the correct passport before her flight which was in 1.30 hours.
She didn't pay the shuttle fare. He didn't realise until she left. But, like he said, he knew where she lived…. Okayyyy, slightly creepy but true I guess.
Goodbye New Zealand - Australia, here I come!
