Day 122
To try and delay another day of staring at the screen for revision, i went on a big walk this morning...obviously bigger than i expect as i found myself at a 'Welcome to Brisbane' sign - i'd left the city?! I was almost about to ring Rachel to resuce me with google maps when the (biggest and steepest) hill leveled out to the top of Forrest Street. 9-11am must be the hottest time of day, i swear! Also, i found out later that Brad had driven past me in his ute but had decided not to beep as 'i didn't really look like i needed it'. Eugh, i must have looked like a right sweaty betty lol! However, Rosemaree did comment on my top later saying it looked really nice so maybe the hills of Brisbane (and surrounds!) had instant slimming effects...?!
In the evening, it was GLEEEEEE time hahaha. Rosemaree said she's going to have to get cardboard cut outs complete with giggle button just so she can control the TV once we're gone and the boys outnumber her again. Cardboard?! Like cardboard can provide my golden banter ;) I also skyped home - Rosemaree trying to subtly ask whether i was talking with a boyfriend lol - to receive a lecture from Luke about his trip to the National History Museum. It sounds like he had a great time but questions about the cretaceious fossils and marine dinosaurs was just tooo close to my Vertebrate Biology module lol :D
Day 123
A huge thunderstorm today provided an hour of hilarity....
After unplugging all the electricals and shutting all the windows, Rachel and I just cowered on the deck watching all the lightening and worrying about Darcy caught on his way back from school. About 10 minutes after the storm started, we realised that their washing was still out on the line and we had just stood watching the tops stretch and get hammered by the rain. Guilt got the better of us, so rain cagoules on (with shorts and flipflops), we ventured out to bring it all in. Bringing it into the laundry room, we realised we had a bit of a problem... Rachel had to move all the dry washing already in there as I mopped the floor up which had become a skating rink. Taking the washing back out to the deck, we hung them on the fold-up rack and stood there watching them drip drip drip, flooding out the deck. So, like the domestic goddesses we are, we decided to wring out all the clothes into a bucket; the clothes included a vest top with more holes than material (yet still held a surprising amount of water!) and several of Brad's and Darcy's boxers. So with Rachel on watch, now hoping that Darcy is mega caught up in the rain, i'm there getting intimate with the washing, my hand on the crotch of some mustard yellow shorts.
Rosemaree returned to find the deck sopping wet with her husband's very wrinkled underwear on full display blocking the door yet the garden bathed in bright sunshine. How embarassing!
