Day 80 QUT's Garden's Point Campus

Got a lift to campus today in Brad's ute...taking the back routes of course lol. Got there eventually though and quickly spent the money saved on my gocard to buy some pic'n'mix from the campus lolly shop (there called sweets argh!). In the molecular biology practical today, we were setting up a southern blot... stacks of tissue paper, card and sticky tape everywhere... like we were back at primary school! Thankfully managed to set it up without too much drama... though Rachel did catch me talking to the agarose gel, trying to coax it to speed up a bit whilst bathing in its HCL treatment = worrying?! :P

Got talking a bit more to the girls who work on the other side of our bench, about British actors and actresses... in particular, slating Russel Brand :) This evening, i finished my write-up of the latest vertebrate practical - identifying small mammal skulls at Queensland museum and then relating their dentition to their diets - there's some strange animals in brisbane! Also looking at modules for next semester - a great forensics one so fingers crossed i do well enough to take another elective! Lab examhe in clinical micro next week - time to up the prep!
