Today we did art with P2 P3 and P4. I think we were supposed to do music, but with me being sick and Nora having developed a cough, I doubt any of our voices would have been up to par. We read the students The Rainbow Fish and talked about sharing. Then we had them decorate fish. We glued pieces of aluminum foil to the fish to make the shiny scales and hung them in the windows. They were so cute! It was really fun too because each student got one marker and then when they finished we would trade them. Nora , Jen, and I felt like auctioneers in the classroom, " One yellow marker… sold to Praise in the back for a green marker; one green marker sold to Derrick in the back for his red; etc.." The P4 class is so talkative and open to us now it's awesome.
We also did P.E. with P2 today. We just brought out a bunch of Frisbees and let the kids toss them, chase them, and fight over them of course. Somehow I became the nurse/guidance counselor for the day. I went over to console one of the boys who I'm pretty sure wasn't physically hurt. Then every time a kid started crying Nora would send them over to me. Oh well, after sitting on the curb for a little bit I managed to coax most of them back into playing. I still don't know what some of them were actually crying about because they said no when I asked if they were in pain… Rough day maybe.
The nurses and Greg all came over after we were done teaching while they took a break. They wanted to see Obama because Nora, Jen, and I always have stories about him. Gen said she wished she could guarantee that all her kids were that cute. We also took a moment to show off the older students artwork.
