Well, the early departure went well, bus to the station with plenty of time for coffee and a croissant before the train to Padova which both left Ferrara and arrived Padova on time.
1 hour to kill in Padova, so another coffee etc and then onto the Frecciarossa to Trieste. Another on time arrival, a quick dash across the road to the bus ( no marked pedestrian crossings, just lots of pedestrians crossing) and with the bus waiting at the stop, we arrived as planned in Muggia.
While the last leg was intended to be a 2 km walk with suitcases, at 32C, thankfully we found another local bus that took us to where we wanted to be.
All in all, a job well done.
San Rocco is a picturesque fishing town that also has its share of big and small yachts. With 3 or 4 cafes right on the harbour wall, I’m sure we will settle in very well before the first day of our next riding adventure that will take us through Italy, Slovenia and finally Croatia.
