Here we are in Rome, well, in Roma Termini actually as we wait for our train to Bari.
The flight from Malta to Rome was another short hop, about 70mins and other than an in flight medical emergency (is there a doctor on board) ( it wasn’t me) and the plane being met by the ambulance crew who took the passenger off, it was all good. The “Welcome on board” message that said “ If your mobile device overheats or catches fire, please ask a crew member for assistance” was a bit of an understatement.
As expected, the train from Rome to Bari was without issue and we settled in to our accommodation.
After a wander through the old town we found a little cafe in a narrow passageway where we were the youngest ones there. Dogs, bikes, vespas, priests & sundry tourists passed by, all adding to the experience.
Later in the day our standby tour guide, Sig. Google found the closest lavanderia (laundromat), and after 2 weeks we needed one. The first one was closed for siesta and open at 4:30. We went back - it didn’t. We found another it was a dry cleaner so we went in and asked if he knew where there was a coin wash. After much waving and pointing, and a lot of words explaining where one was, most of which I understood, he told us it was closed for three days. But, after another chat with google we found one (Blu Wash is the search phrase to use) and all was good.
Puglia is renowned for its food, which we sampled aplenty, but imagine my surprise when I went in to buy a pair of shorts and I needed size 48
