Hey everyone!
So I think it's been a while, but I'm not sure because everything starts to blur a bit.
If I haven't written since turnover, it was amazing. The house was huge, as in ridiculously huge. Massive rooms, balconies, a hot tub, a proper kitchen... a TV! We had a great time. The lake was lovely and cold, there was a great coffee shop nearby, and loads of good food. I swam a lot and wondered around touristy shops.
After turnover the new sessions campers came, which meant a welcome day and getting 300 new campers and their parents successfully in and out of camp (respectively). Hannah and I spent two hours at the side of the road waving. No, I am not joking. Then we worked in the car park running up and down finding spaces and being told that the space I provided was not acceptable for their cars... But everyone finally got here!
Things were running pretty smoothly during the week, until thursday when I started being sick. Which carried on until Monday. Which is proof that I can go to any country and still end up ill. But I'm feeling a lot better now. I have a NUTS today, so I hiked to the creek with Nic and a bunk from unit C (11 years old). We had a CIT (counsellor in training, the last year of camp the campers do training programs with different departments, and they get half their fees paid by camp) with us, so pretty much immediately after we reached the creek, I had to leave the campers with Nic and take Rachel, the CIT, back up the same way we'd come, because she was only with us for one activity period and had to go back to the camp. So I hiked to the creek, and back, and down, and back. And I was carrying dinner for 15! Needless to say, I am building some serious leg muscles!
Tomorrow I am going to Antietam battlefield (bloodiest one day battle in american history, one of the battles of the civil war) with a group of girls and some boys from airy. It was Nicky's idea, and since then we have sorted out a teaching package and a junior ranger badge the kids can do, and they're letting us go for free cause we're a camp group. I'm really looking forward to it.
Now I have a few hours to do nothing much before NUTS tonight (we are sleeping in the tennis courts so get a good view of the stars). Only 3 more weeks of camp!
Lots of love xxx

Debbie Hi Lucy Looks like things are going great, or should I say 'awesome'. Life will be pretty boring when you come back to the UK after all your trips and adventures. Hope your trip to Antietam battlefields was good, can't believe that the public sat on the hills and surrounding countryside to watch the battle go on around them and watching all those men loose their lives, a pretty sad time in history. What a way to spend your summer vacation helping others enjoy theirs and learning and experiencing so much, wish I was there. Looking forward to seeing where you are going on your road trip, mean while keep having fun. Lots of love A, Deb & U. Chrisxxx
