Hey everyone!
So I'm on day 3 of 4, in my ropes training course. I'm so tired!! We have usually had to be on the course at about 7.30 am, and we finish at 7.30 pm only stopping half an hour at lunch and tea time. It's such hardwork. I have muscles aching that I never knew existed before! But it's such an achievement. I figured the only way to deal with being afraid, cause I do have to deal with it, is to get up and do everything. So in the past three days I've done an ascent along a wire in mid air 0to the zip line pole, and then zip lined through the forest, climbed a 70 foot vertical rock climbing wall, then gone on a zip line off that, climbed a 70 foot high cargo net and abseiled back down.. today I had to stand at the crate on top of a zip line tower for 30 minutes as we learnt how to rescue someone if they got stuck (I hope they dont.. it involves hanging upside down from the wire to crawl out and get them) and I jumped off the pamper pole (literally just a massive pole you stand on top of, no platform) and did the giant swing (pretty self explanitory). Ad I'm so proud of myself! My first day, I was shaking so bad I fell off things, but I'm getting better. I also have to know the proper stuff like how to belay through different devices, how to set up the ropes, knots etc, how to do rescues...
Tomorrow I have the last of the training then a test, then on friday I have first aid training. Then I'm all set. Saturday I have ropes groups, sunday I'm doing a nights under the stars trip with 10 year olds. Next week I'm doing a night cave :-) (not actually that different from a day cave, as either way it's dark!)
I hope you're all ok. I'm having an amazing time, I just haven't stopped! Today is the first evening I've had off pretty much since I got here. My first day off since I arrived will be a week on saturday. Hard work. Definitely worth it though. I'm going to practise knots now, and read a book (YAY! rest!) and then actually get some sleep. I haven't really slept since saturday night.
Lots of love xxx

Debbie Hi Lucy See you have jumped in at the deep end. What a wounderful attitude to have 'Feel the fear and do it anyway'. They have you all working pretty hard but it sounds exciting and a great experience to take with you in life. The zip line sounds fun, though like you said hopefully no-one will get stuck on it. Glad that you are enjoyng yourself, making loads of new friends and having loads of new experiences. Keep up the good work and having a great time and enjoying the new opertunities.
