Pictured: feet of the whole family at the church of the holy family (sagrada familia). Kat: gaudi is a genius and I love the building, the stained glass, the bugs on the door, and the out side detail. Julie: it's so rare to see so much happiness expressed it a Catholic Church. I loved the nature imagery. Light on the martyrdom, heavy on the joy. Robin: exterior was very beautiful, but the interior blew me away. It was quite relaxing. Columns were like trees, like it was designed by gaudi. Jane: it was awfully pretty, but I didn't get it the way the rest of you snooks did.
We were all impressed but the inverted suspended model of the ceiling. Gaudi took string and added weight to make the exact inverted shape that he wanted. He essentially invented 3-D architectural grafting. Our tour guide said that parts of the sculptures would fall off because of the age of materials and we would have to replace them.
Jane adds: Haha ur snooks. Robin has just threatened to kick Kat in the flying buttresses. Cocktail and tapas hour is deteriorating rapidly. On to the barcelonetta beach area!
