Hello everyone from New Zealand, back where you guys are its 3:30 in the morning on sunday morning, here its 8:30 at night on sunday night... you guys should have a good sunday though.. it will probably start off real sunny then maybe get a little rainy around 1ish or so, but it shouldn't be too bad! man we just had maybe the best weekend yet! We went canyoning, hung out on the beach and camped in a little surfing community! it was awesome... basically canyoning consists of repelling down waterfalls.. swimming through canyon rivers, cliff jumping and all sorts of stuff... it was awesome... we repelled down a 50 meter cliff right next to a waterfall, then repelled in waterfalls and stuff... and cliff jumped all in this beautiful canyon! it was sooo sweet.. from there we went down to the beach that was a huge surfing beach! the town was basically just a surfing community so there was like everyone down at the beach hanging out and surfing, it was definately really cool, something i could get used to?!?! ha but ya the waves were real big and the undertow is real strong there so its a pretty infamous beach.. they actually have a reality show down here about the lifeguards at this beach.. needless to say it was fun to watch and hang out there... we got fish and chips on the beach for dinner then just sat tehre and watched the sun set... it was an awesome day thats for sure.... This week was really great.. we had an awesome speaker who was much older and wiser than all of us and was able to shed some great wisdom and light on all of our lives... it honestly felt like he was talking straight to me which was great, and he had a lot of things that i needed to learn...lectures are much different than chem class which is different but its good as well... it feels weird not to be in real school but i geuss i don't mind the break eh? On friday the local youth group near us was having a 70s disco dance night and we went to hang out with the kids and dance, so of course i took the opportunity to dress up the best i could and show off my moves for everyone to see! it was really fun... we all know how much i love to dance! ha oh ya i forgot, on wednesday some of us guys were goat hunting in the bush (woods) here with just a machete but ended up getting lost! no worries tho we made it back in one peice and totally fine, but the creepy thing was that we kept on seeing dead animals and skeletons like everywhere? it was weird and kind of reminded me of lion king when simba and nala sneak into the elephants graveyard but oh well... and of course we did a bunch of other hiking and walking to, so it was a good week... tonight we're gonna have a late night because some of guys are gonna watch the all-blacks vs. scotland rugby game which starts at 3 in the morning here... its the rugby world cup which is a big deal and the all-blacks are new zealands team so we're getting into it! but it should be fun! well i'm off, but hopefully this next week will be full of stories and adventures to keep you all from being completely bored with my blog... hope all is well, i heard the royals won homecoming! thats good news... go vikes and cubbies! peace and love korey P.S.
