Wow, it's been a long time since I've used my travelblog so lots to update you on.
To cut a long story short, I moved out of Southport as it was difficult to get to and from work in Surfers. I stayed with a friend for a couple of days and then I met two amazing Scottish girls. One from Livingston and one from Aberdour!! I ended up moving in with them and have been living there for 5/6 weeks - so much fun!
I got sacked from the Karaoke bar I was working at, basically because I had been off sick (which I had a doctors line for), couldn't believe it as I really loved working there. Didn't bother getting another job, decided I would just have fun instead. So for the last 5/6 weeks I've been doing a lot of partying, went to a theme park called 'Dream World', went to 'Wet and Wild', went up the Q1 (which is the tallest residential building in the world), had lots of BBQ's, house parties - you name it!! I have had so much fun.
It was my 30th just a few days ago and we celebrated in style. We were out the night before my birthday and so at midnight the whole pub was singing happy birthday to me, even though it technically wasn't my birthday since Scotland is 9 hours behind.
I was woken up the next day to the apartment decorated with banners, ballons and streamers and all my cards and presents laid out on the table. Thank you very much to those of you that sent me cards and pressies - was really nice of you. In the afternoon Marisa and I booked our trip to Fiji - how exciting. We are on an all inclusive luxury trip and we will be staying on the mainland and also at 3 of the Yasawa Islands. We will actually be staying on 'Celebrity Love Island' and will be swimming in the same pool as the celebs - how cool! Then at night we were going to go out for a nice meal but we opted for a bottle of Champagne and a pizza delivery instead. Hee hee, love it!
Two days after my birthday it was my birthday night out. OMG!!! I had the most amazing time, it was wicked. 11 of us got all dressed up in 70's/disco gear and hired a hummer for the evening. A few of us started early at mine for drinks and then we met the Limo people in a cocktail bar. We met our security guard, waitress and the rest of the team partying with us for the evening. We were VIP the whole way. We munched through some Gourmet food and a free drink and then moved on to different clubs throughout the night with free drinks and a VIP area everywhere we went. I was also given two massive fish bowl cocktails from the company since it was my bday. The hummer was unreal! It looked amazing inside with flashy lights and lasers and the sound system was out of this world. We all piled in for a drive around Surfers and were given unlimited vodka and champagne! It was great in the clubs because our waitress would always go to the bar for us and supply us with drinks whenever we wanted and the security guard made sure that no other people came into the VIP area where we were! The waitress also took my camera for the night and snapped away catching every moment of the night. It was so great not having to worry about taking pictures.
We all planned to end up on the beach for the sunrise but after all that alcohol there was no way that would be happening, I've done that loads anyway since I have been here. So a few of us headed back to ours for a couple more drinks and then it was time for bed.
Don't feel that hungover today, I should be after consuming all that alcohol but hey, I'm not complaining!
Tomorrow I will be leaving Surfers for good. Gonna be so upset to leave here because I have lived here for 7 months now and its home to me!! Emma and I pick up our Campervan tomorrow and we are dead excited. We will drive to Fraser Island where we have a 3 day '4 x 4' self drive tour booked. Then there will be a long roadtrip up to Whitsundays where we have a 3 day Catamaran trip booked. We will have to stop over somewhere for a night though as it is too far to drive straight there. Then we will drive up to Cairns and see Port Douglas, Cape Tribulation and Atherton Tablelands, (it has gorgeous waterfalls that we are going to swim in). Then we both fly to Melbourne and I will stay with Emma for two nights before flying to New Zealand on the 11th of May. Can't believe I only have two weeks left in Oz!!!
So as of tomorrow I won't have regular access to the internet but will try to keep you all updated with our adventure. I have quite a few photos that I need to upload - most importantly my 30th pics!!!! Will do that as soon as I can!
Bring on the camper.................
